NAT overload and STATIC NETWORK NAT on the same router...

Hi Team,

This has been driving me nuts for the last couple of hours...

I basically need to do PAT (NAT overload) to my public IP address however in addition to this I am also running a Site-to-Site VPN (on the same link to a remote site).

The issue is that when I do the "ip nat inside source static network" command and specify the subnets and mask I break the internet connection for the users on the LAN.

I need to do the static network NAT because the remote site uses the same address range somewhere in there network.

Please let me know your thoughts any and all help would be great!

I have tried a few things (static 1-to-1 nat with route-maps, PBR on the LAN interface to push internet traffic to a loopback, etc...) with no luck :(

I even tried this https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2172082 but still no joy :(

Whenever the static network command is in the "debug ip nat" ALWAYS nat's traffic to the "fake" subnet. I understand this is designed this way but I need a work around to get both the VPN traffic and the Internet traffic working off the same router.

I have googled extensively but can't find a working configuration out there on the world wide web, so I though I would check in with the A-Team :)

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards,
David

I am planning on compiling a study document listing every command (with little/no explanation) that needs to be memorized for v3 splitting it into sections - all the commands needed for gateways - h323, sip, mgcp, CME, CUE, t1s, e1s, dsps, switch commands, qos, gatekeeper, and also a list of service parameters that commonly need to be changed from the default value.

If someone has already done this, let me know, otherwise I will upload a doc here when I finish it

CCIE Collaboration Lab Equipment and Software ListPassing the lab exam requires a depth of understanding difficult to obtain without hands-on...

CCIE Collaboration Lab Equipment and Software List

Passing the lab exam requires a depth of understanding difficult to obtain without hands-on experience. Early in your preparation you should arrange access to equipment similar to that used on the exam, and listed below:

Lab Equipment:

Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) C460 Rack Server

Cisco 3925 Integrated Services Routers Generation 2 (ISR G2)

Cisco 2921 Integrated Services Routers Generation 2 (ISR G2)

ISR G2 Modules and Interface Cards

- 1-Port 3rd Gen Multiflex Trunk Voice/WAN Int. Cards - T1/E1

- Cisco High-Density Packet Voice Digital Signal Processor Modules (PVDM3)

- Cisco Service Ready Module 710 Service Module with Cisco Unity Express

- 4-port Cisco Gigabit EtherSwitch 10/100/1000BASE-TX autosensing EHWIC with POE

Cisco Catalyst 3750-X Series Switch

Cisco Unified IP Phones 7965 and 9971

Cisco Jabber for Windows

Cisco Jabber Video for Cisco Telepresence*

*In backbone, no candidate configuration required

Software Versions
Any major software release which has been generally available for six months is eligible for testing in the CCIE Voice Lab Exam.

Cisco Unified Communications Manager 9.1

Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express 9.1

Cisco Unified Contact Center Express 9.0

Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM and Presence 9.1

Cisco Unity Connection 9.1

Cisco Unity Express 8.6

All routers use IOS version 15.2(4) M Train

Cisco Catalyst 3750 Series Switches uses 15.0(2) Main Train

Network Interfaces

Fast Ethernet

Frame Relay

Telephony Interfaces

T1/E1

They are using 15.2 IOS. Pretty much means that the 2800 series routers are worthless now. They are still putting SAF on the lab even though that is not going to be pushed as much. Still have PRI's. I don't see H323 Gatekeeper in there, but they still had CUBE, so I would suspect that gatekeeper can prob make an apperance. So far the changes are whats expected.
