Post VMware Player or Virtual PC??

Hello, i have always used a Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 for my test, but i hear about a VMware products that seem they work fine too. I went to Vmware official page, done registration, but when i try to install VMware server it dont allow me to do nothing...so, if anyone have tryed either this software, can plz tell me what is better for virtualization?

How far are you intending on going with your virtualization? For my studies for the 70-443 I have downloaded VMWare ESXi and I have 3 Server 2003 (two node cluster + a DC) systems and a Linux VM for iSCSA SAN. My lab is pretty complicated.

Virtual PC is easier to set up and use. I think VMWare server is a little harder to setup, but is a great product. If you only want a simple test environment go with Virtual PC as it is what you know. If you have the hardware and want a challenge download ESXi.
