    Default LMI,DLCI

    While configuring frame relay I came across the terms "DLCI Mapping" and "LMI Type".What do they mean?Want a brief definition............

    DLCI is the L2 information you need when going from circuit to circuit. This gets mapped to an IP address and swapped at every Frame Relay switch

    LMI adds a bunch of enhancements to frame relay such has multicasting and PVC status messages

    It's also good to know that LMI messages serve as keep alives between your router (DTE) and the frame-relay switch (DCE).
