Default Common channel signaling and channel assoicated signaling

    Hello Everyone,

thank you for reviewing my post. today i passed my 200-101 with 901 and ready to tackle my ccna voice and security. I was wondering if i have this right as i am starting my ccna voice. channel associated signaling is where the signal is set up with the voice robbing the bits from the 24 64 kpbs ds0, and the common channel signaling reserves the 24th channel to set up the signaling not sending it with the voice? I just wanted to make sure i have this right. I know time division multiplexing allows multiple conversations to be sent over the link but statistical time division has made an improvement to time division multiplexing.

That is correct. In voice, CCS is commonly known as a PRI (Primary Rate Interface), where 23 DS0 (64kbps) channels carry the voice signal, and the 24th is the signalling channel. Also referred to as out of band circuit.
