    Default CCNP Security Prerequisites

    CCNP Security Prerequisites

    • Valid CCNA Security certification, or
    • Valid CCSP certification, or
    • Valid CCNA certification plus SND exam pass

I guess this means that someone with a valid CCNP R&S can't take the CCNP Security exam without completing CCNA Security first ...just want to confirm as for some reason I thought otherwise (was there a change in the prerequisites?).

That is correct. Technically you can take any exam you want but you just won't receive the CCNP: Security credential until you have passed the CCNA: Security exam.
