Well today is the day for the Foundation Exam, and what a good day it is, the streets are covered in snow and apparently there is a convicted felon eluding police in the woods somewhere near our town. Awesome!

Not a good day to pick up a hitchhiker on your way to the testing center...

Hellz ya, just bought the .99 cent official TOGAF practice exam and got 37/40, and one of the 3 I missed was b/c I wasn't paying attention. I think 38/40 is solid we shall see, I keep thinking of Gandalf in LoTR yelling "Phil you Shall Pass!"...

Passed 92%, got two questions wrong. Took me about 14 minutes, the lady said, "Wow that was fast are you some kind of genius"

Now I have part 2 in two weeks. That should be interesting since part 2 is not a memorization exam....

It's 8 questions that are scenario based. You have a pdf version of the TOGAF 9.1 standard that you use to answer the questions.

The study guide for part 2 is actually kind of cool. It asks you to actually perform the steps in order to understand the info. So if you haven't created one of the deliverables before it shows you how. I think you could actually use the guide to prep for an EA interview.

This is Philz we are talking about here. The man the myth the legend.

If I hit 1/15 of what Philz sets out to accomplish during a year I exceeded my expectations.

So here is what I do:
    1. Read through the text once
    2. Find an online practice exam or use the book practice exam.
    3. Run through the questions fast, note which ones I got wrong
    4. Re-read the topic, or watch a video, or if they are definitions I write them down.
    5. Repeat 2-4 until I don't get anything wrong.
    6. Turn my study notes into a blog post, writing creates memory.
    7. Test
    8. Pass
    9. Brag on TechExams to boost my low self esteem
