Looks like you're off to a good start!

For me, it's a server admin year:

    1. VCA6-DCV (done!)
    2. VCP6-DCV
    3. MCSA Server 2012
    4. Project+

If I get all that done, I'll start studying for the CCNA in 2017.

Well, I got the degree. Got the CEH and CHFI. New list is:

    ISC2 CCFP
    Masters from WGU
    Guidance EnCE
    IACRB CDRP

Probably gonna take me until Q2 of 2017 though. I'd love to get some JTAG and ISP training in too, if I can get work to send me. Eventually I want to get CISSP.

    Hello,

    New here !

    My goals for 2016 :

For work (2nd lvl support) : Dell Kace (passed), Dell server, workstations, laptops, networking (passed).
Really easy, hope Dell will improve their certifications paths.

    MCSA Windows 10 : 70-697 (passed) , 70-698 (waiting for book and material) .

Maybe trying to unlock ITIL Fundation if i got time at the end of the year, it's always required on the banking job aera (i'm in Swiss).

Goals have been updated. Much initiative has been given to me to obtain these certs. If I can pass them all before my yearly review in January I will be in a very favorable position for a raise/promotion.

How could everybody archive 4 or 5 certs in the same year? To me, 2 certification/year is a kind of thing that is almost out of my ability.

You make a plan for 5 or 6 and end up finishing 2 or 3.
Some manage to finish all the goals, others finish some, some finish none of the goals and others keep changing the plan throughout the year.

I think for many of us these goals are a wish list and not an actual plan.

I think you actually could end up with 4-5 certs in a year if those are related to the same subject and are scaled by complexity (starting from least complex ending with the most complex) and also your work tightly relates to exam objectives of those exams.

    Default Gettin' greedy here...

Now that I passed RHCSA, which was one of my two certification goals this year, I think I may also sit Red Hat's Diagnosing and Troubleshooting Linux Certificate of Expertise by the end of this year instead of RHCE. It's not that I have the Red Hat Architect ambition, but I think I saw enough Linux fails so why not use the experience...

I just accomplished my goal for CCNA. Originally that was the only plan. But it has been maybe a week and I am already hungry for more knowledge. I feel almost bored without something to study.

New goals: MSCA and something in infosec. I am not sure what yet. sec+ seems too minor to bother with, ccna-sec is too vendor specific, and CISSP is too advanced (don't have the experience.) Advice appreciated.

I didnt have a cert goal this year. I ended up studying about VMware NSX passed the VCIX: NV last month. I'm hoping to be able to get:

1). the Nutanix Platform Professional (NPP)
2). maybe the VCAP6-Deploy (if they've managed to iron out the latency issues)
3). the VCAP6-Design (if the exam's GA at VMworld Vegas this year)
4). wish list: an Azure cert, an OpenStack cert and an Azure cert

More importantly, get better every day at anything I do and not waste any time.
VCDX: DCV - Round 2 rescheduled (by VMware) for December 2017.
