Did you have to pay for that plaque?

The course and exam challenge was $3800 so yeah. I mean not additional to the original costs, but for 4 grand they better give me a plaque, minimum.

Yeah, I guess so. Looks really nice! With GIAC do you have to take another exam to keep your certification current?

I'm pretty sure I have to recertify each individual cert every three years or so, but that the fee is extremely small and includes all new course material for the challenge.

    Yeah, it's totally different now.

My Network+ looks just like the one that you posted, but my A+ has a new design. The certificate is much smaller and the card that they send is actually a hard card like a credit card.

It's pretty nice, but the actual certificate is still kinda flimsy. It comes in a nice "congratulations" brochure as well.

This is what the newer Comptia Certs look like. Sorry, I didn't scan the card. But take this image and shrink it to a credit card size and voila.

damn that's an expensive test! it better give you a used civic with it for daily drive. Did your employer paid for it? how was the test compare to CISSP or CCNP's? harder?

I find it somewhat hilarious that people are posting their 'information security' certificates with their full real name on it. username + real name + a few quick copernic searches .

It is kinda neat to see the differences between the different cert materials. I always thought it was neat that Sun gave you a pin as well. All of my cert pins got stuck to my backpack and started several good programing conversations. The wallet cards on the other hand have always been something of an oddity to me, it's not like I've ever been 'carded' to perform some special tech-task.... although now that I think about it that may not be a bad idea

Wow. What a difference a couple of months make for the Security+ card, I got my card in October and it looked like crap compared to yours.

CompTIA cert holders can log on to the CompTIA site and get a PDF copy of their CompTIA certs in the new graphics.
