My work is going to pay for my splunk admin and power user. Any point on me getting the architect cert for anything or is it pointless to put in the effort?

Well, are you goign to be architecting? I only took up to power user because I do not have admin access or above. IMO if you will make use of it, go for it. Otherwise it doesn't make much sense.

Have those certs become very marketable? Seems like it's one of those things where experience is the only thing that matters...That being said, if it's interesting to you then go for it.
