I was going to set goals for 2010, then realized no matter what I did, we're only two years away from 2012 and the end of the world. What's the point???!

    Seriously though...

Finish my MCITP:EA upgrade. Probably January 2010.

    CCNA

Some MCSE/MCITP electives to round out my portfolio:
    70-284
    70-285
    70-401

Probably should do MCITP:EMA and I want to get my CCA as well.

    So 10 exams for 2010.

Yes it does! I still enjoy Packet and A.P.R.S. I would never have gotten interested in computer networks and servers if hadn't been for Amateur Radio.

    Default My plans for 2010

    Hi Y'all,

I am very thankful for finding TechExams.net this year. I enjoy talking to everyone as well as hopefully contributing something back to the community

So far this year I have graduated with my A.A.S. in Computer Networking technology, and passed the Network+ certification. Next week I hope also pass the Security+ certification. [Update: Passed]

My plans for 2010 (Isn't there a SciFi movie named that?) is to gain the following certifications:

    1. CCENT
    2. CCNA
    3. CCDA or CCNA:Security (Not sure which)
I will also be starting on a Bachelor degree in Information technology in the Fall. I am hoping to knock off three certifications before my classes start since college will begin taking over most of my study time.

Doesn't look like I'll get my MCSA upgraded to 2003 this year, so it may lag into next. After that would be 2008 MCITP:SA.

More Novell certs and SQL-related certs would be nice, but given how crazy '09 has been I don't want to get my hopes to far up for 2010. . .

Not sure to be honest. I am at a toss up between LPI/CISA/MCITP:SA

CISA is only offered twice a year so I might have to give that one a whirl. I am preparing for an internal and external audit so this project might be my big project for end of 09 early 10. A CISA would be a nice feather in my cap due to that. LPI or MCITP is something I might have to think long and hard on.

I want to do my 70-642 and 70-646 in the next 2-3 months for the MCITP:SA.
Then maybe go back and do the 70-291 for my MCSA 2003. (Which I am kinda thinking whats the point but from a job perspective it would help me.)
    Then finish off the MCITP:EA.
I really want to do VCP4 for Vsphere, its a awesome product also Sharepoint and Exchange 2007/2010.
Maybe even SBS2003/2008 as they also seem to be in demand.
Oops, I forgot I want that windows7 cert, just failed last time in the beta. Want to nail that this year.

Priorities for 2K10 would be CCDA, CCDP, CWNA, CCNA Wireless. Perhaps delve into CCIE writtin towards the end of 2k10. The goal is set , time to travel down the road to completion.
2017 Goals: Dark Side OPS: Custom Pentesting (complete), eCPPT (in progress), LFCS (in progress), OSCP (Ah next year...)

Getting my Amateur Extra license is also on my plate for 2010. Gonna try to do it at Defcon 18 in August.

2010 will be a tough year! I do not expect to complete all of these, but we will see how many I can accomplish. Lets see if I can seperate work, school, and personal goals

    Work:
CCNP, CCDA, CCDP in that order. Work has "required" that myself and one other obtain the CCNP and CCDA at a minimum by end of year if we want to see merit raises in 2011. The worst part, they won't even pay for the books!

    School:
Already in the WGU MS:Info Sec & Assurance as of Jan 1 which means for the year:
CEH, CHFI, CWSP exam PW0-200, EC-DRP, GIAC 7799

    Personal:
    ISSAP, CISM, OSCP

Of all of these, I know that the CCNP, CCDA, and ISSAP will take priority for me. I will have the BCMSN completed towards the CCNP before Xmas which will help, and possibly ISCW as well. That will leave ~12 for next year, which will be brutal.

    GCIA
    GCFW (that's a bigggg maybe)
    CCNA: Sec
    CCSA (also a big maybe)

This December, I will finish my last exam 70-293 to finish MCSE 2003 and my plan on 2010:

yeah, I am so frustrated that I longed plan to finish this CCNA but I can't because of my busy work and I can't start CCNA without finishing my MCSE 2003. But after this 293 this dec., I will see to it that I will start on my CCNA certification ( a must )

After the CCNA (hopefully) then, the start of my quest for MCITP EA. argghhhh too many certs to study, time is really that gold...

The time has never been much of an issue for me. I can always squeeze it in.

Its the fact that certs are expensive and work doesnt help out with them, at all.

The certifications that I'm working on in 2010 would be the CCNA and the Project+ (if I didn't pass the beta exam). It'll be awsome because thats 15 credits right there for my four year. I hope to have my CCNA by the end of the school year so I can work on my Secuirty+ exam.
I'll also have my AAAS in Network Administration by 2010 (winter).

I had a very successful 2009, taking six tests, passing five of them and still waiting for the 686 results. I am pretty sure that will be a fail but I may be surprised.

For 2010 I expect to take a similar load of tests. I'm getting out of my comfort zone so I will be lucky to get these done.

Security+ (probably by Feb or March)

MCITP:EA - I have the EST so I'm 1/5 of the way on this one

Possibly 70-680 if I passed the 686 just to finish out the EA. I don't think I'll do this one though.

If my employer becomes generous this year I'll take the required VCP class and work on that exam for the end of the year. Really I'd drop everything to get it; I love VMware and have lead the project to move our servers to the virtual infrastructure. We set a goal to have it finished by 12/31/09 and (fingers crossed) we will have our final server transferred to VM this weekend.

MCITP: EA before the end of 2009 (hopefully)
Possibly finish out MCSE: Sec. I only have to take the 70-299.
    CCNA
Then start on CCNP. Any suggestions on what order to take the exams?

A good goal. I keep thinking about it, but I don't know if I would ever spend much time on those additional bands. HF does intrigue me though

finishing off 2009 with Tandberg's TCAP and TCEP certifications, should have both by next Friday.

After that I am aiming at CCNA Voice or CCDA, either of which should count towards renewing my CCNA, then onwards to begin the Microsoft journey I've been delaying so long.

All of this goes hand in hand with the consulting and support services business I am preparing to launch. No rest for the wicked :P
