I'm going to set the bar lower for myself this year because I never find the time to do even half of what I say I will do.

I need to update my Microsoft certs to Server 2008. This is probably priority 1.
For something different, I want go get RHCSA
If I have time, and if I am still at my current job, I will do NetApp NCDA
    IT guy since 12/00

Recent: 10/27/2017 - Passed Microsoft 70-410 (one exam left for MCSA 2012)
Working on: MCSA 2012 upgrade from 2003 (to heck with 2008!!), MCSA 2016 upgrade, more Linux
Thinking about: VCP6-CMA, AWS Solution Architect (Associate), Python, VCAP6-DCD (for completing VCIX)

Probably some programming-related and DBMS certs here for 2013. 2014, maybe Red Hat.

I'm about to move into the final 10 months of a 3 year secondment, been a very interesting 26 months and need to grasp as much in the time remaining to me, in particular looking to focus on Exchange, SAN, SCCM and ePO before heading back to my mainstream employer.

Cert wise, complete 70-646 by the end of Feb to finish MCSA 2008, EMCISA (Apr), Net+ and Sec+ later in the year. With 3 years solid IT experience and some decent certs to back it up, maybe it'll be time to look for a new job.

    Complete SANS Cyber Guardian baseline.

    I am in 504 now via On-Demand. Test on 28 Feb 13.
SEC 560 April, FOR 508 in Aug, & SEC 503 in Nov.

Maybe ISSAP or something else if I get bored with SANS.

If you achieve all that Kim it'd be one heck of an achievement. Your one of those who can.

    Rough plans at this point:

I want to get VCAP-DCA, and hopefully DCD done this year. I'm going to do some sort of storage cert in between them.

I *may* up my Windows certs to 2012, and possibly add MCSE Private Cloud, if my employer wants it.

Then I've got my CCNA being up for renewal in January 2014. I'm thinking about going CCDA instead. At this point, I don't touch network gear, but I do get involved in design decisions with virtual infrastructures.

In honor of New Year's I'm going to revise my goals and aim higher... I might not make even half of these Certs but we'll see how it goes. (especially since I only got 2 certs last, but I figure it's aiming high that got me where I am today!, and w/e I can get work to pay for )

    1. Finish CCNP: Security 3 more exams
    2. At least pass my IE: Written
    3. CWNA - Now that I'm working with Wireless again, should have taken this a year ago.
    4. Maybe CCNP: Wireless.
    5. WireShark Certified Network Analyst would be nice, been using wireshark and TCPDump for a few years now.
    6. SolarWinds Certified Professional, why not been working with SolarWinds for over 5 years now. I hear it's not that difficult.
    7. Maybe a Lab attempt for IE: R/S..
    8. Depending how involved my Nexus deployments go maybe CCNA/NP: Data Center

Well, let's see here. Since last years' plans were a wash, I'm hoping to pick some of them up. The only cert I earned in 2012 was ITIL Foundation (today, as a matter of fact,) and a lot of other things just fell to the wayside due to a dead-end job that never went anywhere and a busy schedule otherwise. My schedule will be busy next year as well, between classes and work, but stable and I'll have the money to take exams again. So, for 2013:
    -
    • MCSA: Windows Server 2008
      • Taking 70-648 exam sometime in the next month or so
      • 70-646 at some point not too long after that
    • VCP 5 (Enrolled in the class at my community college, so I'll probably be taking this in the summer)
    • MCSA: Windows Server 2012
      • Hoping to take the upgrade exam, 70-417, before summer
    • JNCIA, since my work now uses primarily Juniper routers, but everything else is still Cisco
    • And, if there's time towards the end of the year, I'd like to get back on track with Cisco and go for the CCNP again. We'll see if work and school leave time for it
    -
Let's see if this year is a bit more productive than last year, shall we?

Two CCNPs in one year is a very hectic schedule.

    windows 7
    sharepoint

@ PSO SA would be a huge win even without CCENT IMO

@ Kermit NA would be huge. What Sharepoint certification were you thinkinig about? Administration or the user one from MOS?
