    There are many ways to configure Samba, but it really depends on your needs.

    very BASIC configuration:

    1) install samba
    2) vi /etc/samba/smb.conf
    3) specify workgroup
    4) specify shares
    5) smbpasswd -a <username>
    6) /etc/init.d/smb start

    paths may vary...
