Default Windows 2003 - MCSE/MCSA requirements and links

Welcome to our new Windows 2000 forum

Microsoft has recently released the 'MCSE on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Certification Requirements' and the MCSA 2003 requirement including the course details and exam objectives.
I want to make a good start for myself, and future Win2003 practice exams and TechNotes for the site. I'm going to post every useful resource I find along the way and try to write some myself as well. First some links at 'the source':

MCSE 2003 requirements includes info on the upgrade exams for an MCSE on Windows 2000

MCSA 2003 requirements includes info on the upgrade exam for an MCSA on Windows 2000

Product Information The best place to start to gain info about the various versions of Windows 2003 such as the new features, system requirements and case studies.

The Windows 2003 Downloads page 180-days evaluation version and/or check out some of the great new tools. There's a link to the beta 2 of Exchange 2003 as well.

Technical Resources for Windows Server 2003 In-depth information about Windows 2003.

Microsoft Skills Assessment Test yourself on different Windows 2003 topics and compare your results with others.

Inform Microsoft about your A+, Network+, Server+, and/or Security+ certifications to use them as electives.

Actually you'll have to take two just to upgrade to Windows 2003 MCSE... but 1 of the 2 exams required to upgrade to MCSE is also the same exam to upgrade to MCSA 2003

I've been looking myself for the MS training kits' release dates but couldn't find it yet.

Examcram will release books for the 70-292 exam (mcsa upgrade) and 70-296 exam (mcse upgrade) in October (ISBN: 0789730111 and 0789730146)

This page lists the status of new MS exams: http://www.microsoft.com/traincert/m...status/new.asp

You'll probably have to wait untill fall to take the tests.

Also check out the link I added to my post above to the Windows 2003 assessment tests at Microsoft

    Default MS 2003 assessment

I took the online assessment and scored 50% in 20 minutes, not that bas I've never looked at 2003 and never looked at 2000 in about a year.

I just noticed there are hardly any electives left in the 2003 paths. A+ and Net+ are going to become even more popular as an elective for the MCSA. And the weirdest thing: I can't find Exchange 2000 as an elective for MCSA nor MCSE, while SQL 2000, ISA server and even SMS 2.0 are allowed...

their link changed for this. Just thought you should know.

    http://certification.comptia.org/mcsa/default.aspx

That'll give you the information required to inform MS as to your comptia certifications.
