Default Dublin, Ireland 70-291 advice?

Hey folks,

Anyone in Dublin, Ireland who's sat this exam recently? Any advice on what the structure is? Are they the same all over the world? I've been putting this one off for months, but now want to give it a fair shot before the 2nd Chance expires. Completing it will give me the MCSA then just three more to go for MCSE.

I've got a real blind spot for subnetting , hopefully it won't focus too much on that!

Cheers,
Tara

Hi Tara
I'm in Dublin too! Havent done this one but all MS exams are the same worldwide. Same experience level etc required. They call 291 the beast. If you read the forums you'll discover why. most find it the most difficult in the 2003 track. Any advice you find in the MCSA/MCSE forums here will apply and folks will keep you up to date here.
Good luck with it.
Jay

Hi Jay,

Thanks!

Yeah, didn't know it was called the "beast" till I started browsing for tips! I kinda suspected as much- every time I booked the exam in the past, something would come up which would prevent me putting in quality study for it. I would then get nervous and cancel it. With previous exams I took my chances and was usually fine! This one gives me a bad feeling. I'm doing it Thursday week and am determined to get it over and done with so I can crack on and finish the MCSE. I'm out of work at the moment so have all the time in the world to put in the effort.

Are you working towards anything yourself at the moment?

Tara

I'm from Dublin too.

Taking the 70-290 on Monday and will hopefully take the 70-291 by the end of July.

Reckon I'll have the most fun studying for the beast, seems much more interesting than the others(70-270 & 70-290)

Cool, thought it was mosly North Americans and Brits on this site!

Still working away on 291 myself, getting prepped for Thursday. Have a pretty full week planned of meeting people and an interview- doh! But will hopefully get a last cram in!

Gosh, was just checking when I did 290 and it was 2006. I got 805. If I had done 291 back then I would be well over and done with the MCSA! Even if it took a few attempts. Would probably have MCSE as well. Talk about losing momentum! Ah well, got Small Business Server and SQL 2005 done in between but they were for a company's Partner requirements.

Best of luck with 290. From what I recall, its definitely easier than 291!

Tara
