Don't forget the registration info: Beta Exam Announcements : Register for Beta Exam 71-680: TS: Windows 7, Configuring

As far as the beta's go, usually Technet, product documentation, etc. are going to be your best bet. I'd try to find a complete feature list and go through them one by one.

I cant wait for this exam, I hope I pass.
I've been using Windows 7 on my laptop since the first Beta
I hope that my daily exposure to the OS and the similarities to Vista help me out.

Same here. I've got 2 Vista exams under my belt, and have been using Windows 7 exclusively for the past couple months with no problems. Just been playing with the OS. I would guess with all the critics on the 70-620 being too easy it will probably be a little more difficult than that, so I'll have to dig deeper into it to learn some more.

Good luck! I'll be registering as soon as I can. Once anyone takes it, make sure to share your experience (as much as you can without violating the NDA), I know I will!

If you have the beta, get your hands on experience with that. It is very similar to Windows Vista, so study some of the books for that (70-620). I am guessing there is going to be a lot of overlap between those two, but am really learning the nooks and crannies with 7 just in case. I don't want to Assume anything.

What is the cost of doing a Beta exam? Is it the same as that for a full blown exam ?

Free, other than gas and time. And unlike some of the others I've taken, it actually counts on your transcript. Yay! I am really loving Windows 7, and adding this to my list is going to be awesome. I still have to get my WS2008 certs out of the way, too.

Ok, you got me there. It's free if you have the time to take it or can afford to take time out of work to take it.

I'm not saying you should register later rather than sooner, but I haven't seen a beta fill up in a matter of hours either.*

*And I don't feel like getting up early, so the more of you I can convince to sign up later, the better...

Wait will we be able to sign up on the website? I thought it said we HAD to call prometric.

Dynamik- What im referring to is that i know some of the colleges/highschools in the area encourage their students to take tests like this for extra credit, pass or fail. So them getting a spot rather than someone who actually wants it for valid reasons is kinda lame.

Yep, you just select the exam, enter that voucher code, and you're set. I've registered for my other betas online in the past.

My college's IT manager blasted the link out to all students in any IS major. And yea, there are some fellow students that after having been through a dozen or so classes with some of them, I know they really do not take their career choice very seriously. It would be a shame to see one of them get a shot at it while other hard working people in the industry or trying to enter the industry that genuinely like their job miss out.
