Hi everyone,
My ultimate goal is to be in the security field someday and I am wondering if Network+ or the CCENT would be a good place to start in the world of certs? Thanks in advance!

CCENT if you have been into computers/networks for a while. If your a newbie, do the N+ to get a feel for things.
As for listing on a resume, a Cisco cert would jump out much more than a damn comptia one.
Just me $.02

2013 certification goals: [ ] MCSE: Private Cloud (70-246 to go) || [x] VCAP5 - DCA (done) || [ ] VCAP5 - DCD (in progress)
I would recommend the N+. It covers a lot of the material that you see on the CCENT and is more "generified," so you can gain a broad understanding of all things networking. Are you working with Cisco equipment at work?
My goal (God willing) is to get through 2009 Version CompTIA A+ Essentials 220-701 CompTIA A+ Practical Application, 220-702. Network + and suriving these continue on to my final goal of passing the exams for MCDST (70-271 , 70-272) Windows 7 (70-680).
My question is, do I need to pass Network + edition 2005 before I can take the exam for edition 2009? Thank you!
