Default turning automatic updates on in XP - Registry

Just took in two laptops from people no longer with the company. Both have had automatic updates turned off, and no way to turn them on. I know there is a way in the registry to do so, but I dont remember exactly where it was.

    Can someone refresh my memory?

Try editing the local security policy
gpedit.msc > Computer Config > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update

    Registry settings are
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Win dows\WindowsUpdate
