I wonder how much it's going to cost after the beta.

    Somewhere between $311 and $414?

I was fortunate enough to grab a seat a couple weeks ago or so for $50. I scheduled this for the 30th. Earlier this year I also was invited to be SME as well, but did not take that up, I should next time for sure, as it sounds like it would have been a lot of fun!

Techwizard, definitely take them up on the SME offer if it comes in again (it should, i was offered Server+ twice, did it second time). It was a lot of fun, and very educational to see cert tests from the other side. I wrote a quick blog post on the week (short as to avoid NDA issues)

Based on the message on the CSA+ page for CompTIA, it sounds like exam results won't be provided until the day the exam is released. That's definitely disappointing to me. I expected a delay of a few months to quantify the values of questions, but I was under the impression that it would take a few weeks or 1-2 months, not 4-7 months. Then again, CompTIA also posted that they expected the Beta to close much, much earlier and with fewer candidates than it actually did.

If you took the beta exam, your pass/fail results will be sent directly from Pearson VUE when the exam is released in Q1 2017. Thank you for taking the beta and helping CompTIA further define IT workforce skills in security analytics.

Same here. I'm a little annoyed they made the CEU date begin on the date that the student took the exam, but as I was positive I failed (I got an 83 and it cost $50, so I can't complain too much.

What a good pre-Christmas gift to receive the results. I thought we would have to wait until mid-February for the results. Since I passed, my other certifications have been extended by three more years (which I am grateful for).

I passed with a 754. Barely! But a pass is a pass. And that was with absolutely no studying for the test as well, so I feel like I would have easily broken 800 with a month of reading an official study guide. Congratulations to everyone else who also passed! And those that didn't, there'll be dedicated study materials coming out sometime next year, good luck!

I just looked at my certifications list, and it looks like passing CASP in October renewed my CSA+ already. I guess they made it official as of the day the test was taken, for good or bad.

I didn't study for it either, so I was surprised that I was able to pass with a bit of wiggle room (766). Had there been official study materials available I think I would have done better but to be honest, I am just happy I passed!

I got my results tonight and I passed with a 781. I wasn't sure how well I did on the simulations. I felt like there wasn't enough information in some of them, but I think I did very well on the multiple choice.

I have zero plans on retaking... I'm sure it would be an easy pass if actually studied but my other Comptia certs are good for another 2 years still and don't plan on needing them anymore by that time.

    Default Certifiable

Was totally stoked to receive the results yesterday, I didn't expect to see them until after the new year either. 780 works for me.

What did you use to study? How different is this exam?

I just noticed that Skillport has added a course for CSA+ to their COMPTIA lineup.
I haven't checked it out yet, since I am focusing on other certs at the moment but just thought to put it out for others with access to this resource.
Comptia charges $320 for the test (WTF!). Launch date is listed as 15 Feb 2017 (insert Back To The Future joke here!)

The Skillport course is pretty good, not sure how well it prepares for the exam as I have not taken it yet. But I felt they did a good job covering the topics discussed in the exam objectives. Granted I knew the majority of the material from taking Sec+ and being enrolled in OSCP so I can't say how effective it would be for anyone more new to security.

Either way I plan on taking the test in a month or two, debating whether I want to take Linux+ first or not.
