    Default Lab (Virtual Machines)

    So im trying to build a lab for 293, 294, and 298.... How many 2003 servers do i need? and how many clients? thanks =)

    It depends on how much of it you want to lab.

    If you want to lab pretty much everything, you'd need two sites with two DCs in each site, a couple cert authority servers, a RRAS server, two servers to cluster. You can consolidate some of those roles onto one server as well. Then you'll want a couple virtual workstations to test out various things on the client end.

    I use a DL385 with 16GB of RAM, so I have no problem virtualizing multiple machines though. Word of advice... WDS is your friend if you want to go the virtualization route.
