    Default Security+ objectives

Hi guys, a quick question: have security+ SY0-401 objectives ever changed? I'm looking for books and most if them were published in 2014.

The objectives remain the same throughout the length of the exam code period. They only change on a new release, so when the SY0-501 comes out, the objectives would have been updated. Each CompTIA exam runs for 3 years (SY0-401 ending in 2017), so the 2014 books should be correct.

Does anyone know when the 501 comes out? I'm looking back into studying for this. I've been out of the loop and my a+ and n+ expire in 90 days.

The SY0-501 exam will launch in October 2017. You will be able to still take the SY0-401 exam until July 2018.

2014 books should be good as long as they're SYO-401, but yes it changes about every 3 years and should be changing beginning of next year. So, hurry up and take the test!
