Default Sound Card passthrough in ESXi 5.5/6.0 for a Dell R Series Server

So I'm running into a hurdle and when I hear from Dell that it's not support it makes me want to see if some other monkey on this planet has a sound card working in a server as a PCI pass-through for desktops in VDI or Terminal Services to have sound.

I simply don't believe Dell when they say it can't be done, curious if other people on here have found solutions to this particular issue.

It's been a long time since I've played with View/Horizon, but thought it had audio redirection to allow VDI sessions (and presumably RDSH sessions) to have audio capability making use of the client device audio capability... So nothing needed in the server.
