    Default 70-697

    Hi everyone,

I'm trying to study for the exam and would like to know if there are cheaper alternatives to measure up and transcender practice and simulated exams. Also, I cannot seem to find real labs that can be free for practice as I'm not working at the moment. I read the MCSA 10 book from William Panek, seems well written but I need more indepth training. I looked at the online classes offered by microsoft trainers or boot camps but they are out of my financial reach. Also, the internet have all these sorts of training tests with VCE questions but I'll have to buy the avanset subscription which is pretty pricey monthly.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

You can get study material cheaply or for free through legitimate sources such as:
    The official exam study guide:
    https://www.microsoftpressstore.com/...-9781509303014
    which is cheaper on Amazon:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Exam-70-697.../dp/B017L0P146

Or you could get a bit more creative and use the exam blueprint from:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/lear...am-70-697.aspx
Then get signed up (free) to the Microsoft Virtual Academy and match the blueprint requirements to the training material:
    https://mva.microsoft.com/search/Sea...ices&lang=1033

As for free practice tests, I haven't seen any. There are loads of braindump type resources out there but these are not going to help you learn in the same way as the study material is and are rather risky to use.

I'm afraid doing things properly costs money but with some effort there are enough legitimate sources out there to do it on a budget.

On the VCE application subject, if you have a Windows 8 or 10 computer, the A+ VCE Player is on offer for something like $20 one-off fee for lifetime access, so you can play VCE files you get from anywhere. You can get it from the Apps store (start menu - Store).

I know things are abit tight as you said but if you can sign up to CBT Nuggets, you will get full access to their 70-697 materials, virtual labs and transcender practice exams. Signing upto CBT Nuggets is cheaper than signed upto transcender practice exams on its own.

Thanks guys, I will follow up on all your tips. Seems to me that this exam is much more involved than Vista that I took and passed. I just wonder how this exam will pay off for me down the road because from what I see from job postings, companies are more interested in network+, security+ or even cisco.
